I believe in educational technology as a basis for learning in and out of the classroom. When technology such as a computer or laptop with an internet connection can open the doors for many students for research and learning purposes. Technology can help address the entire learning atmosphere for a group of students. There are so many possibilities with technology in and out of the classroom to help with many student and teacher learning, but the simple fact remains is that technology is here to stay and can be a great help for all individuals who use it.
With technology students will be able to have a digital, more organized workbook for class assignments and information. The teacher can make lectures and assignments more colorful and animated to hold the students attention during lectures and discussion topics. The teacher can also make a class website for resources and such as assignments, notes and other class materials for students to access when they get home or if they are unable to make it to class that day.
Advantages to technology (learning opportunities):
helps make teachers and students more productive
helps with time management in the classroom
helps with research on the web
allows students to share information with each other and the teacher
Technology has helped create learning opportunities that did not exist before such as simply going on the internet to search for a research topic. It has allowed for a new digital schools and distance learning in a virtual classroom. It has also allowed individuals to save, edit, share and keep information for use now and in the near future when they need it again.
Teaching strategies of technology:
With new advances in technology it is possible for students to attend class virtually on the web. Students would be able to attend lectures via web cams at a certain time and complete class assignments at their own pace. Distance teaching may be the answer for some students, but not all.
Other technologies that can be used in the classroom are:
student workstations - allows students to connect to the school network to research, e-mail and share information.
media touch computer - allows a group of students to interact with each other while researching topics for assignments.

Many teaching strategies with use of technology can help promote active learning in the classroom. This would help teachers to address a wide range in learning styles, allow for practive and group work, provide a simple way of providing feedback for studnets and to promote active class particiaption.
